He didn't have time to think. He scrambled out of his chair. He leaped toward the wall, tucking his limbs, trying to mimic the classic "Hole in the Wall" game show pose. He dived headfirst through the star-shaped gap.
Leo chuckled. He opened the Target dropdown. To his surprise, it didn't list player usernames. It listed physical locations. My Bedroom. The Kitchen. The High Street.
"No way," Leo whispered, his heart hammering against his ribs.
He looked down at his pocket. His smartphone was glowing. He pulled it up. On the screen, despite having no apps open, was the dark-mode interface with the neon blue sliders.
The Target dropdown had automatically refreshed. It now read: The Entire House. The wall speed slider began to move up on its own.
Leo looked back at the screen. The GUI had updated. A countdown timer was ticking down from ten seconds.
Leo lay on his bed, gasping for air, staring at the spot where his computer used to be. Then, a soft chime broke the silence.
