Tommaso (Marco Giallini) is a high-profile, arrogant cardiac surgeon and a staunch atheist who prides himself on being "liberal". When his son, Andrea, announces he is "coming out," Tommaso prepared himself to support a gay son—only to be horrified when Andrea reveals he actually wants to become a priest. Enraged and convinced his son is being brainwashed, Tommaso goes "undercover" to investigate and discredit Father Pietro (Alessandro Gassmann), the charismatic and unconventional priest influencing Andrea.
